Hi,
I'm not really familiar with Access and I wasn't the one who put this
database together. We are a general contracting compay and my boss's friend
set up this Access Database file. This file is saved on our server. Access
is installed on each work station and we access that file from each work
statation. Basically we enter what we call a "task" in for a certain job
address and we run reports by address of what tasks still need to be
completed at that certain job. We have now hit over 9999 tasks. On some
work stations any tasks that are over 9999 it shows as "1E+01" when we run
the reports and on others it shows the normal number (ie 10001, 10002, 10003,
etc.) What can i do to make the works stations that show "1E+01" show the
correct number?

i tried uninstalling access & repairing access but that didn't work.

Thanks for the help!

Gina,

i will try that when i get in the office tomorrow. The funny thing is if
i'm at my work station and i'm logged on as myself it's fine...10001,10002
etc. but if someone else logs on at my work station it shows up at 1E+01 and
like i said the file is stored on our server not the work station itself.

if what you suggest doesn't work do you have any other solutions??

thanks for the quick response!

Emily,

If it's the same front end not sure why it would change sizes. However, if
it's different front ends might be the way the defaults are set. Are you
using tables or datasheets to view the data?

Also, check the printer's fonts for each of the workstations. Likely the
workstation that shows the entire value is set up to handle the desired font
type and size, while the other workstation's printer cannot handle those
font settings and thus ACCESS substitutes a different font.

Gina and Ken...

Thank you for your help! it was a really odd sitaution and Gina's
suggestion worked on one workstation and Ken's worked on the another one!

Thank you for your help! These office discussion groups never fail!
