Now available at http://www.dvnation.com/nand-flash-ssd.html !
16GB is out now and this is the only place I've found it. Same cost
per GB as the i-RAM that ya'll might have heard of, but 4 times the
size. It has a convenient 2.5" laptop formfactor with PATA connector!
Silent, low power, instant seek time. Wow!

Oh, and cheap, too, at a mere $2000. Uh huh.

And will Samsung replace the drive before some number of years of
warranty considering that flash memory has a write/erase endurance
limitation so users can get a new flash drive when the old one wears out
due to thin-oxide stress? Samsung claims 2 million write/erase cycles.
So how long does it take YOU to perform that many? Depends on whether
you just store data files on the flash drives (with far less writes than
reads) or you want to run the OS and applications over that can easily
perform thousands of writes per minutes. 2 million write/erase cycles
sounds high when you are talking about a USB thumb drive but it's not
much for a permanent drive.
