i have a hitachi 164gb hard disk drive. i fornatted &
partitioned it on my system, added my documents and files,
had a problem with windows, which meant i had to format
the c drive and reinstall my os, is it possible that the
disk i had my files on is still accessible or do i have 2
format it again to gain ccess to the hdd.
 
If your files are on a partition other than the OS partition, they will not
be harmed by formatting the OS partition, so long as you don't format the
partition they are on. That's one of the main reasons for partitioning in
the first place.
