16 Monitors on a single PC showing different images

Is it possible to connect 9 - 16 monitors to a single PC having a different
image on each monitor (for example as a extremely wide desktop).
I'm using WinXP

WinXP can control up to 10 monitors as standard or up to 16 using specialist
quad graphic cards by Matrox or others. Quad cards are very expensive
though.
