16 bit Windows Subsystem

From yesterday I get the following message when some 16-
bit programs are started:

"16 bit Windows Subsystem
config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-
DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to
terminate the application."

These programs worked fine before yesterday.

What to do????
