16 Bit Windows Subsystem error when installing a game

Paulio Morlio

Hi,
I am tryin a install a game to my c drive which as over
40gig spare, however whilst installing i get the following
error message:

The title bar of the error contains the following text:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

The error message window contains the following text:

C:/DOCUMEN~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\. A temporary file needed
for initialization could not be created or could not be
written to. Make sure that the direction path exists, and
disk space is available. Choose 'Close' to terminate the
application.

Ive had this error in the past whilst installing numerous
other programs and is becoming a bit or a nuisance
obviously. Most program seem to install fine, its just a
few which generate this error, one of them being: Jimmy
White's 2 Cueball

Thanks, any help or guidance would be much appreciated (i
wanna play my game!!, lol)

Usually this happens if the game (or other program) is old and was not
designed for XP. Try running the game in Compatibility Mode. Look in
XP's Help & Support for "compatibility mode".
