16 bit Subsystem

I am trying to hook up a printer but there keeps saying there is a error with
the 16 bit subsytem does anyone know how to fix it?
 
AUTOEXEC.NT or CONFIG.NT could be corrupted. Copy the one in \windows\repair
to \windows\system32 and try again.
