I keep getting this error message and I'm not to sure why:
C:\WINDOWS\systems32\cmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT The system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft applications.
Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

What does this mean and does anyone know how to fix it?
I just downloaded the XP SP2 and then this error message
started appearing as well as another for the some Direct
X thing as well. can some one please help me out with a
solution?

thanks
Jorie

Two possible causes:
Could be caused a trojan or something similar, e.g. see
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]

Also, AVAST (antivirus software) can be the cause if you
have WinXP SP2 installed:
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]
and run an up to date check with a good AV program anyway

You can correct the matter by copying windows\repair\autoexec.nt back
into windows\system32, but if you have one of these problems it will
only arise again
