1394 port

if my Device manager does not list 1304 port, and the video editing software
instructs me to connect the DV camcorder viar that port, what's my next step?
I have a Canon Elura 100, and Pinnacle Studio software.

My computer wasn't equipped with a built in IEEE port. I got a PCI card off
the net for about $20. It works fine.
While doing the research to find out which to get, I read several articles
that advised against the cards with both IEEE and USB ports. Since I had usb
ports on the motherboard, I just got the IEEE one. Just do a search or go to
Walmart and get the board. Very simple to install and come with directions.
It will be listed as a' IEEE 1394 bus host controller' in device manager.

and get one with a cable included, much cheaper than having to buy one as an
extra, your cam will have a 4 pin connection.
