I have been unable to download software for at the final stage I
receive..... 'error 1324 The path to My Pictures has an invald character'
Up to now have been unsuccessful in solving the problem, any suggestions?

First, you could download to another folder that is not My Pictures or under
it. Use a folder off the root (such as c:\pictures).
