I tried to install StoneGate software on my dell XP Home laptop and it keeps
giving me the error msg 1155: dotnetfx.exe file not found and path is
pointing to wherever my installation file is (my desktop).
If anyone have any idea how to fix this, please let me know?

That's a .Net Framework executable. Does this software need the latest
version of .Net Framework? If so, you can get it from the Microsoft website.

Probably not too much to say from them. They only seem to have 3
FAQs.

Why are you installing the software and what do you expect it to do
for you?

Do you have a CD or did you download it?

Did you try contacting their Support group from their home page?

I'm using it to connect to my work network. I had it installed before on the
pc and it worked fine but I reinstalled win XP for different reason and tried
to put this same software back on that PC and it wouldn't let me. I
downloaded software and the same file works on other PCs that I have. I did
not contact their support, but I will try that as well.

Thank you

dotnetfx.exe can be either the installation file for .NET Framework 1.1
or .NET Framework 2.0. Normally, software that requires a .NET runtime
in order to function will include the required runtime on the CD or
start to download and install it to the system when the program is
initially installed.
I downloaded software and the same file works on other PCs that I have.

What software and what is the Operating Systems of the other PCs ?

If 'the same file' worked on another system with a different Operating
System, then check to see if the .NET runtime that's needed is natively
installed :

What version of the .NET Framework is included in what version of the OS?
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/arch...rk-is-included-in-what-version-of-the-os.aspx

Once you find out which .NET runtime is needed, visit the MS Download
Center and enter it's name in the Search field at the top of the page
and then click the 'magnifying glass' icon, just to the right of the
Search field:
