Hi

About two weeks ago a new directory appeared in Windows Explorer and
anything that read the directories.

It is entitled "112".

It consists of shortcuts to all my "My Documents" files - or something
very close to it.

Each time I delete the directory, it recreates itself on rebooting or
after several hours of use of the PC.

Any ideas?

I use MS Spyware Beta and it usually detect a "Browser Hijacker" once
per day and erases it but I dunno if the two things are connected or
whether I am making an assumption.

Has anyone else ever met this odd self-recreating "112 directory"
problem?

If so, what is it?

Most importantly is it a result of a Trojan or similar and is it going
to do any damage?

Even more important, how do I kill it?

Any advice appreciated

Regards

David

Hi,

Never heard of it. Nor would I rely on the MS spyware beta at this point.
Boot into Safe mode and delete it. Start/run msconfig and disable unfamiliar
entries on the startup tab. Then restart normally.
