it is Sasser. I have check with the download from the
microsoft site. It says I am clean of Sasser. The only way
I can keep my computer from shutting down is to shut down
svchost.exe on start up. There is two, if I shut down the
larger of the two about 15,000K it will not shut down the
computer. In a few minutes svchost.exe will start again the
screen blinks and the font of the lower bar changes. Now
here comes the kicker. Internet explorer will not work. It
take three to five minutes to even appear (it is in
taskmaster right away) then an error box pop up and it
closes down IE. Also when I try to use the Search button
from the start menue it does not work. Any Ideas??

I also can not download the latest security update from the
microsoft website. I am using netscape 6 Yes it will work
even though Ie will not

It seems that you are indeed infected with the sasse
using netscape download stinger and run it in safe mode

Do not connect to the internet without a firewall and antivirus.

Once connected, immediately download and install all critical Microsoft
patches and updates.

If you do not do it as outlined above....well in that case no one can help.
