1005 CPU usage due to "iexplore.exe"

R

Roger

Whenever I run Internet Explorer v6SP1 on my XP machine
and then close the browser, "iexplore.exe" continues to
run as a process in Task Manager. That causes my CPU
usage to stay at 100% and slows/locks my system until I
manually delete the "iexplore.exe" process. Sometimes
there will be more than one instance of "iexplore.exe"
running as a process. This didn't used to happen but I
can't figure out what causes this and how to fix it.
Help Please!
