100 Percent CPU Usage Highlighting

I have a problem when selecting/highlighting text in IE 6.
When I start highlighting rows of text with the mouse,
CPU jumps to 100 percent and highlighting becomes very
SLOW!

Does anyone know what is wrong or how I can fix this?
