Hoping somebody can shed some light on my issue. My father runs back and
forth from CA to his place in Puerto Vallarta. He uses Office 2007 and has
issues upon arrival in Mexico where he finds himself reading messages that
are several months old and have been replied to while in CA. Is there any way
to reconcile messages from two locations, or is it necessary to maintain a
backup and constantly update his .pst? Thanks!

I take it, then, that he's using two separate PCs with POP accounts and that
he leaves copies of messages on the server so that the PC in Puerto Vallarta
downloads messages that it hasn't seen before despite the fact that the
CA-based PC already processed those messages. One way to handle this is to
delete messages after they're downloaded and then synch the PSTs when the
move occurs. Another way is to use the web mail interface to the server, if
one exists, to move messages from the server Inbox to some other folder on
the server so that the second PC can't see them (but they'll still be
available if needed). A third way is to use an IMAP account, if that type
of connection is offered by the mail provider.
