1 account, 2 computers and 2 email addresses - how to separate them?

Good evening,

I've got one broadband email account on two networked computers, both
using Outlook 2000. I want each computer to receive their own
respective emails, however, both computers are receiving emails from
both accounts. I just double checked Outlook on this computer and
under Accounts, only the account I created for this computer is there.
Why am I still getting the other emails? And how do I filter so that
each computer gets it's own respective mail? Thanks.

Do both of those addresses receive mail in the same mailbox on the ISP? If
so, any download of messages by Outlook, whether on another computer or not,
will download the entire contents of the mailbox, since the two addresses
are not actually distinct, as far as the ISP is concerned. Some ISPs, on
the other hand (SBC comes to mind) allow you to have subaccounts under the
main one, each with their own distinct mailbox on the server, so it's easy
to download one without affecting the other. In that case, the addresses
are truly distinct.

Each Outlook should specify that the mail should be left on the server for a
specific number of days and download the mail. The rule you create should
simply delete all mail not addressed to the recipient that Outlook
represents. You'll both get all the mail, but throw away that not intended
for you.

I've got Charter Pipeline, and I'm not sure if they work like SBC.
But I'll create a rule to delete the other respective emails and also
ensure they are maintained on the server. Thanks Brian!
