1/ I have NIS03
2/ I did block communication access to the internet via
NIS thinking it was Messenger :(
In NIS, under Activity Reports, I created a 'rule'?
Details: The user has created a rule to "block"
communications Outbound TCP connection.
3/ I can access Messenger, only when I disable NIS...
4/ I re-installed Messenger 6.1 and its still a no-go.

Please help :) ty

I was receiving the same error message and tried
everything (including sending a 'please help' e-mail --
never received a response). At the time, I was running a
trial version of ZoneAlarm (anti-hacking, popup
suppression, etc.). The trial period ended, I killed the
free version, and - Voila! - the problem disappeared.

If you are running a similar program, try suspending its
operation and see if you can then sign on. Good luck.
