I am trying to get Outlook 2003 (win XP) to work with my broardband e-mail
account.
I have configured the account details OK and when I test the account
everything is fine. However, when I press SEND/RECEIVE I get an 0x800ccc92
error and it keeps asking me for the password. (-ERR a password MUST be
entered)
If I enter the password (which I know is correct from the test at setup
time) this still doesn't work. If tick the remember passwrd box ....it still
doesn't work.
It seems as though no password is actually being sent by Outlook to try to
connect to the POP3 server.
I also see that the password that I enter and told it to remember is blank
next time I look at the account details.
Note that I can send mails, but just not receive them from Outlook.
Outlook Express has no problem in recieving my mail from the same account.
I have tried turning off E-mail scanning for McAfee and adding Outlook to
the firewall list, but no joy.
All help would be most welcome.
