I've just upgraded from a 40 GB disk to a 200 GB after disk cloning from the 40 GB drive to a 40 GB partition on the new drive
I then made the 200 GB drive the master, and the 40 GB drive the slave
The system boots properly from the 200 GB, and makes that drive F. Disk Manager shows that it is the System Disk
So now I want to remove the old disk. I removed the disk and XP boots up ok- and I login. Login appears to accept my password, but then, after a several second delay, I get
"A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80090006
Does XP check the sector/cylinders/etc. on the disk to ensure that the original disk is still in the computer
If so, that's pretty slick - but in my case, I want to reformat the old disk, and keep things running
Thanks!
