Zone Alarm contra Kerio

As firewall I have Zone Alarm and nop problems, but I have read much
positive about Kerio in this NG. I want to make my "autodefense" as
good as possible and ask: Which of the two programs is best (Kerio
Free)?

I used to use Zonealarm and heard it wasn't secure; I don't know if that
was true.

I changed to kerio and it was terrible, but some folks said I had the
accursed (current) version 4?, and an earlier version 2? was ok.

I'm now on Sygate and happy with it.

If you don't get confirmation of ZA's insecurity I should stick with it.

I've been using Kerio 2.1.5 for some years now; only limit I see is only 255
rules allowed. I've used ZA and heard that it was insecure too that;s why I
switched to Kerio. I also used Sygate and it just stopped working completely
(couldn't get anywhere). YMMV

I've been using ZoneAlarm for years without any problems. I suggest that
whatever soft firewall you choose, you immediately go to http://www.grc.com
the Gibson Research site and run "Shields Up" and d/l and run "Leak Test".
This will probe your ports. If you are getting a score of STEALTH you're in
good shape.

I have used ZoneAlarm (Free version) for several years. I periodically
check at grc.com to confirm that it is still effective. I have never
had any result other than Stealth. This leads me to consider that
rumours about any insecurity are just that, rumours.
