Zone Alarm and XP Networking

Hi,
After too many hours I think I have figured out my particular networking
problem.
It wasn't an XP issue it was a POBCAC error... Problem Occurs Between
Computer And Chair

I am trying to connect two XP computers using a crossover cable.
I could see that I was connected but couldn't add anything.
I THINK I have solved my problem and it may be helpful to others...

After I disabled ZoneAlarm, by Zone Labs, I was able to see other places on
my network. All of a sudden they just appeard. I moved a file from one
computer to another and viewed it on the destination drive. Then to test my
hypothesis I enabled ZoneAlarm and whammo all the info. was gone... just
like that.

So... I went to ZoneLabs.com to get a little better idea of how to handle it
but their website is currently under repair so I'll just have to wait.

AGAIN.. I THINK I solved it.

Hope this is helpful.

You can use ZoneAlarm with a LAN easily. From the ZA control panel,
click on the Firewall tab, and Add an IP Range which includes all
IP addresses on your LAN, select Trusted as the type of zone, and
give it a name (like MyHomeLAN) to remind yourself what it is. Next,
Apply and exit from the control panel. Then, congratulate yourself on
solving another tech problem by pouring a cold adult beverage.
