zip and exe programs

Hi-I downloaded and email checker type program today and I really like it.
Problem is that when I turn off the pc and restart it, I have to manually
put my email addresses in this program again. This is such a simple program
and does not even have a help file.
My question is this: How can I make this program be a permanent part of all
my other programs. If i can do that, maybe the addresses will remain and not
erase. If after doing this, they still 'erase' then I will search for
another program that saves my settings and addresses.
Nice thing about this program is that I can take it with me on a flash drive
and use it on other computers. but it doesnt save my settings.
thanks in advance

Ok so the subject line talks about exe and zips. After looking at the
program are you unzipping it first and then running the exe or are you just
opening the zip and running it from there? Here is what you should be doing.
You should have a file somewhere called e-mailchecker.zip, you need to
extract that file first by right clicking on it and selecting extract.
Remember where you saved it to. After that you double click on the newly
created folder called e-mailchecker. Inside that folder you then double
click on the file called e-mail checker.exe, fill out all the information
that is needed then close the program, do not try to check your mail before
closing it. Closing it is what makes it save the information. You will see a
file called email.dat show up after you close it. That is your saved info.
Now you can run the program using the exe file and your information will be
saved.

It is just a poorly written program.

Update. I had installed this email checker at my work pc and remembered that
it froze at one point. I had to restart the pc and this email checker
program was no where to be foud til i found it in my temp folder in zip
folder. so i opened i up through there and had to re enter al info again.
I tried using this same program in my laptop today (newly entering email
addresses and pw's) and saved a short cut to my desktop. I re-started the
laptop and the shortcut was still on the desktop and i started the email
program and NOW everything was still saved.
SO I guess what I should have done is make a short cut and launch it that
way.
The reason it didnt save at work was because i hadnt made a short cut
myself.
I appologize for not trouble shooting more.
thanks for all that read
