Couldn't stand MyIE2....... IMHO, it's a POS

I found My IE2 rather unstable... froze all to often using winME

Why do you say that? Avant has worked fine for me. I mean if you
like Crazybrowser better for whatever reason, fine...but why do you

Also how would it compare to my Babya Discoverer 8 (also offers tabbed
browsing and popup blocking)?

I have tried pretty well all the IE shells and settled on Avant. The thing I
liked most about it was a very configurable user interface. If you were to
look at it on my machine you would barely recognize it as Avant due to the
high level of customization I have put it through. It's not perfect but
development is ongoing and it keeps getting better.

I'll just say that a couple of years ago or so, I tried out AB and MyIE2
and settled on MyIE2. It's been so long, though, that I can't remember
exactly why I chose in this way. But I'm very happy with MyIE2. YMMV.

I like Avant in general, but a couple of months ago I upgraded to v8.02
build 211. It installed a program called "aHTTP.exe" which tried to
connect. Not sure what that program does - could be harmless. Also they
decided to name the main program "iexplore.exe" instead of the old
"avant.exe". Both of these changes PMO, so I went back to v8.02 build
117. That build still nags to upgrade though.

I use Opera and Firefox a lot more that Avant.

You might try the current build - 9.01, build 121. Both of the changes you
note are gone. aHTTP.exe was a program to keep from disconnecting during a
download even if AB was shut down.

went >> back to v8.02 build 117. That build still nags to upgrade
though.
