yellow border around transparent images, gifs and pngs

there is a border around the image and i have no idea of how to get rid of
it. I've tried turning off the border, but that doesn't seem to work.

By "border" do you mean a line box or transparent areas are yellow?

If the latter
1. make sure service packs are up to date.

2. Try using the transparent colour tool in the picture toolbar.

I figured out that in order to get rid of the yellow border, I could draw a
rectangle and make the rectangle's fill a picture, and turn off shape border.

You could also take your picture into a paint program and see if you cannot
removed the border there.
