Yahoo's new full screen banner ads (IE settings to block?)

Yahoo and a few other websites are displaying banner ads (Walmart -
this week) on their main pages that appear almost full screen for a
several seconds before allowing you to proceed. Is there a way to block
this type of web page animation through IE settings?

With a small tweak called a HOSTS file.
