Yahoo Mail and Netscape load slowly

Hello,

I am using Win2000 SP3, AMD 1.4 Ghz 80 gigs.

When I go to any website - fine. Hotmail, other email etc. But when
I go to Yahoo - it takes a very long time.

As well - Netscape take a very long time to load. IE is just fine.

I did move a file from the systne drive (C) called 00000C6D (it was
huge) and moved to another drive.

I have no idea what the file is but would that movement cause things
to be slow?

The Yahoo site is fine, but logging into emails and navigating between
emails takes a long time.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Tmuld.

If you try this from another computer (on your network, if you have one?)
how is it?
It's probably a Yahoo issue - servers may be very busy.

I had that problem with Yahoo, too. I read that they were attacked, along
with AOL and some others. Yahoo also could have been under strain due to
their new 100 meg. offering of people going to their email to check to see
if they have it or not.

Thanks for the help!

It is faster on other computers! At work it is. I am trying it at
home on another computer to see if it might be the network.

It could be the OS. Does Yahoo use Java or any other programs in the
background?

Could background programs like Antivirus be the problem?

Again, thanks!

I tried on another computer on the network - running 98SE

It was regular speed. It must be the computer.

Any ideas why Yahoo would be slow, but all other sites normal?

Hmmm...

I tried another browser - Netscape 7.1 - it works faster.

So the problem must be on the IE 6.1 end. Why would that happen?

Suggestions once more?

Thanks,

Tmuld.
