XPS and paper size defaults

We have had serious issues since MS rolled out their XPS document writer. It
keeps setting itself as the default printer!

No matter how many times you change it, it keeps coming back as the default.
I'm being called to some computers every 2-3 days! Is there a sensible fix
for this, or is it a question of going round 300 machines and deleting it as
a printer? XPS seems to take priority even over the login script. If i do go
deleting it, will the windows updates try to reinstall it straight away?

The other problem we've had, which occurred at the same time, is that the
machines are all to often setting themselves to letter size paper and
printing a tiny version of the original in the corner of the A4 page they
should be filling. Again, even when the default paper size is changed, it
reverts back to the letter paper.

Is this going to be an ongoing issue? and has anyone else had this problem
start in the last few weeks?

Thanks in advance

It seems to be either. It's often an issue first thing in the morning when
the machines are first turned on, although there are sometimes problems in
the afternoon after people have logged off and back on.

The letter size paper is more of an issue than the XPS writer as I am
currently going round removing the XPS writer because as a primary/elementary
school we have no use for it.

For the Default issue, is this at random times of after a logoff/logon or
system restart?
