Help! How can I fit Web pages on PC screen to letter size paper?

Mari

PC: Brand new Dell XPS400
Printer: Brand new Dell Laser 1710
I can never print most of webpages from Internet Explorer to Dell Laser 1710
printer to fit letter size paper. The right edge is cut off and printed
pages show only part of webpages. I also notice there are almost no margins
when I print e-mails from Outlook Express. Why do I have a problem in
fitting whatever on the screen to letter size paper? I discussed about this
issue with a Dell tech. support rep. for 3 hours and he only forces me to
use letter size paper in landscape direction with 0 margin!! I just can not
believe that I purchased PC & Printer that I can not even print Webpage to
letter size paper. I had never had this problem with my old PC and HP Laser
Printer.
If you can give me some advice, I truly appreciate. I and the Dell rep.
went through evey set-up property imaginable, but we still could not find a
way to fit Webpages to letter size paper. Is there absolutely no way to fix
this problem? I really wonder if it is a Webpage problem or a printer
problem.
Thank you.

Thank you.

Mozilla Firefox has a shrink to fit setting in the Print Preview.
Internet Explorer does not have that feature. All laser or inkjet
printers will cut off documents at the right margin. It is the
nature of the beast. You have to use software to make the document
smaller on the screen before printing. Dot matrix printers went to
the other extreme by continuing long lines just below the line above
which played havoc with charts and spreadsheets.

Dear Carey:

Thank you for your imput. The "Apply" button is grayed out and I could not
click it!!! (Oh no...). I saved a new form by editing the exsisting name
and measurement. I named the form "Letter Mari" and edited the size as
8.49(instead of 8.50) x 11. I successuflly saved the form. But the "Apply"
botton was STILL grayed out and I could not apply.... Whenever I close the
property and go back to the property again, the form returns to be the
original 10 x 11.

I am ready to do anything. Will you please give me advice on this? It is
very important for me to be able to print what's on the screen.

Buying a software from the market can be a solution. But before I do that,
I would like to try EVERYTHING which might solve this problem. I am still
pursuing the solution that I can do within the setting of Windows XP and
printer.

Earl, thank you for your input, too.

Mari
