XPHome has become slooow to start up

Hi,
I noticed this happening a while ago. It now takes and
extra 3 or 4 min to start windows up, it just sits on the
logo screen for ages before starting. I tried system
restore and the problem was only temporarily fixed,
before the problem would start again. Any ideas or
suggestions??

Have you installed service pack 1?

Are all updates installed for xp.The temp.fix,go to run
type:cmd
At the curser type:ipv6 uninstall
Then type:EXIT Reboot computer.
ipv6 use to cause that also,but since updating all xp
current critical updates its fixed.To reinstall type:ipv6
install

Thanks for replying.. Yes, I service pack 1 is installed,
as are all critical updates and other recent updates.

Thanks for reply. yes all updates installed. Temp fix
made a small difference I think, although now I get quite
a long blank screen as well. How long will temp fix last?
