XPe Compact Flash having Paging Issue

Hello All,
I had made a image and deployed it on Kingston Compact Flash Memory Card. Its
removable disk type.
Now i boot from the image and it goes through FBA process as usual.but when
i logon to it it throws a message "Your system has no paging file,or the
paging file is too small.".
Actually i had set default paging size to 32MB in ACPI PC Component, but it
is still throwing this above message.
Now if i try to set custom paging in Advanced tab under system Control panel
applet. Its says that you have to restart the computer for changes to take
effect.
But after restarting the Image --> Still it throws the same message and
paging size is still 0MB.
If i deploy the same image on DOM or on Hardisk,Its working properly with
paging concept.
I am quite sure its only because of this Compact Flash. Has anybody faced
this problem and how can i solve it.
What shall i do to make my image do PAGING.
Please help.

Unless you want your device to have a very short lifetime, you don't
want a pagefile on a CF.

Thanks Adora Belle...
According to you it reduces the life of CF. But the application we are using
on image needs it. Anyway than atleast tell me how can i mask that
Information Message coming at windows logon just after the welcome screen.
Thanks in Advance

I would suggest that if your application requires a pagefile then using
CF for the storage is not the best solution if you are aiming to create
a reliable device.

See right now we are in a phase of testing on XPe. We usually use DOM,but
these DOM's are not available frequently here. So we are thinking of Using
Compact Flash
but this error started coming at the start of windows Welcome Screen.
So please guide me if u can....Atleast i should be able to avoid this
Message box at welcome screen.
Everytime i restart or boot my Image this message comes at the welcome screen.

Thanks

Hi Amit,

you can disable the pagefile (Set it to 0 MB)
in system and the message ist gone.

Thanks Dietmar
It worked very well.
But I am confused regarding the use of CF's for XP Embedded.
Actually still we to do a bit of testing on it regarding this paging Issue
and EWF.

If anyone can guide me for ------> Which Companies CF should we use which
will make us resolve the problem of paging And EWF. I mean which companies CF
Shall we use which can be set as Fixed Media not Removable one.

I tried a lot regarding the paging issue but anyhow this "paging" issue is
not solved on this 1GB CF of Kingston. I think its just due to the fact that
its detected as Removable Media.

I read a lot regarding the same on MSDN blogs also but nowhere its written
regading the CF's which can be used as Fixed Media.
Thanking you
Please Reply soon..
And Last one...According to you all Which media is more Flexible n
advantageous to use..CF's or DOM's

Hi,
you are right about the "paging" issue and removable media CF card. You
can't enable pagefile on a removable media. We are using CF card from
Silicon Systems that are "fixed media", but there should be plenty
available out there. You can search for "industrial standard CF card"
or "fixed media CF Card" in this group. I think Sean has a page that
lists CF cards that has been sucessfully used with XPe.

When it comes to EWF and pagefile, that's a no no. If you think about
how EWF works it doesn't make much sense to use pagefile together with
EWF. Pagefile is used to extend your physical memory to disk, EWF makes
all you write to disk to go memory....

KG
