XP won't shut down

I have been having trouble the last few weeks with xp not wanting to
completly shut down. It usually hangs up with the "Windows is Shutting Down"
screen. Does anyone know why this happens and how I might be able to fix
it???

Thanks,

Clay Bullard

Since installing SP2, I've had the same problem plus similar trouble
hibernating my Winbook series M laptop.

Try holding down the Ctrl key just before you try to shutdown
I had a shutdown problem recently and this seemed to work for me.
