xp won't recognize TDK 0404n DVD burner

I was trying to burn a cd in Windows Movie Maker and the
program states that "a recordable cd drive was not
detected".
I can use Roxio to burn but need to save the movie in WMA
format. How do I get XP Movie Maker to see my drive and
burn?
