XP will not Shut Down

This is strange but whenever I try to shutdown windows,
it undergoes the regular shutdown sequence without
errors. Then the computer shuts down as it is supposed
to, howvere, in 2 seconds it reboots by itself!! There
are no error messages and all the programs are running
fine but I cannot get it to shut down. I have made sure
that I am hitting the shut down icon and not log off or
restart. Any ideas???
