XP user accounts and networking

Hi
I am using an XP SP1 machine as a "server" for about 6 users. I have set up
common and private folders which work perfectly on the "server".
However some users seem to "connect" or "authenticate" as "guest" or
"anonomously". This then messes up the securites. I have turned off guest
account on the server and set all the pc's authentication to not connect as
guest. Yet this still happens.
Is there something i have overlooked?

How did you disable Guest? Thru the Control Panel applet? Or Control Panel -
Administrative Tools, or "net user"? The former disables it for local access
only. The latter 2 disable its network functionality.
