XP takes 2 minutes to detect Samsung Digimax 130 camera USB connec

I installed the driver that came with the camera. It is about 3 years old --
i.e., pre XP. When I attach the camera to the USB port, I hear the chime that
something has been attached, but it takes over two minutes before the camera
appears in windows explorer. After that all is well. I can download photos,
etc. On my windows 2000 pro system at work, the camera is recognized
instantly upon plugin.
I have no idea what is wrong. Incidentally, the camera appears as a
removable file system.

XP should not need the software you installed. Try uninstalling the
software, reboot and plug the camera in and use windows built in software.
