XP SP2

I really don't know what is causing all of the
HOO HAA about SP2. What could be easier???
Download (WindowsXP-kb835935-SP2-ENU.exe)
to the desktop. Double click the .exe, booted and
then reconfigured my system. Total time 30 to 40
minutes. Everything works with no problems.
I have non proprietary systems with _full versions_
of XP OEM (Home and Pro) latest drivers for _ALL_
of my hardware. Again what could be easier,
download, point and click.......

Looks like you're just one of the lucky ones. Maybe your
system's just so simple that there's nothing for SP2 to
screw up?

Hi

What do you mean by "magnatudes" - that doesn't get by the spell checker!!

It seems any problems you may have are the result of your own care of
your computer.
If you think just being "just one of the lucky ones" is important, you
are already half way to failure.
Since there is no such thing as luck, it has nothing to do with the
success or failure of SP-2 installation.
I maintained my computer and prepared it in advance for SP-2.
If luck had a part in it, the installation most likely would have
caused problems.

Do not count on luck at all unless failure is your goal.

I had no trouble with the update of SP2 either, & I did
use the Microsoft CD. I did everything that HP &
Microsoft recommended, which wasn't much & viola it went
real well. Took all of 16 minutes to install/load.

Most home users do not have any problems with SP2. BUT, when you are in a
work environment where you have 300 plus PC on a WAN. It is a nightmare for
the IT folks.
