XP SP2 xcopy

Scott Kaye

Hi, readers,

In my pre-XP days, I previously used xcopy.exe to transfer my HD to a new
HD. I'd like to do this again, and am wondering if anyone can suggest a
command line with parameters to do a complete transfer? I recall that xcopy
in XP is different than in previous OS versions.

Thanks very much,
Scott

The drive manufacturer should have a cloning utility available for just
that purpose, check their website. Xcopy is not a suitable utility to
do this with.

New drives like Maxtor and Western Digital (that are not OEM versions) come
with a CD that includes a drive copy utility.

If you have an OEM version go to the Manufacturer's web site.

Also have used XXCOPY in the past: http://www.xxcopy.com/index.htm
