XP SP2 Residual Questions...? Minor Things...

I updated both XP boxes today and it went quite well--no problems.

When I hover over the time in the SysTray it does not display the day and
date like it should. This is on the desktop XP Home version. Right now it
is working okay on the laptop XP Professional version. This is an old
problem. Other SysTray icons work fine.

Also related maybe but both boxes Taskbar hovers over task produce info
displays UNDER the Taskbar--this is intermittent. Sometimes it works fine.

Bigger questions...

I like the SP2 Security Center just fine but why won't it recognize NAV
(Norton Antivirus) of ALL antiviral programs? I have currently set Virus
Protection in both boxes to Not Monitored in order to get rid of the
Security Center icon in the SysTray.

It is hard to believe Symantec and MS didn't work this out better. I
suppose Symantec is trying to drive me to upgrade System Works 2003 to
2005, even though this has no bearing on NAV which is up to date.

I suppose I will have to attempt a contact with Symantec technical support
to resolve this?

Security Center will not recognize the built-in Belkin router firewall! It
will however recognize Zone Alarm Pro in the laptop XP Pro box. End result
is that in the laptop SC disables the XP firewall since it sees ZAP and
still displays Firewall in green ON condition. But the desktop I have to
either double-firewall (XP firewall and router firewall) or live with the
SC SysTray icon all the time.

I strongly recommend MS reconfigure this so the firewall will work the same
way an unrecognized anti-virus works and NOT force the SC icon display in
the SysTray...!

So that is where my machines stand right now. Does Tweak UI work fine with
SP2? Neither box has it installed right now.

Thank you.

NAV is part of System Works 2003 and Symantec confirmed that that is the
problem. SW2003 doesn't and is not going to support SP2. Fortunately NAV
is working fine--just doesn't have the connectivity to Security Center. So
I will ignore this for the near future.

The built in firewall in the Belkin router I have cannot be disabled and
Belkin won't fix the firmware, i.e., the router is obsolete. They sent me
a 50% off email coupon BUT the damn thing expires this Sunday--hardly
enough time to decide what new router I might like to get and process the
coupon.

Next new problem is how to get rid of .Net Framework on the XP Professional
machine. It is causing some sort of "Copy internal error 2908" and won't
uninstall properly for some reason. ??

Thanks.
