I recently performed a Windows Update on my XP SP2 and a NET framework
update was installed. Now XP repeatedly wants to install the same
update, telling me the update was successful each time. I performed the
same update 3 times just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, or
watching to see if there were error messages during the installation
that I wasn't seeing, but nothing looked out of the ordinary.
"Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-040 - Critical" lists one Critical and
one Important Severity rating for this SP2 update, so I imagine it may
be a good idea installing this one:
www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-040.mspx
To get rid of the messages I used the Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs to uninstall the update. Does anyone have any idea how I can
install this one 'doing it right the first time', not seeing repeated
requests to install it?
TIA,
Mike
