Hi

ive been trying to get various settings for sp2 going in group policys. the
issue i have is this.
first i got string to long but then applied the updates etc.. to fix that.
then I was able to add the adms to administrative templates but i cant see
any of the policy settings i should see. like the firewall settings for
example.

when i load the same adm files into a 2003 domain controler i see all of
them. however on this domain we dont have a 2003 domain controller so are a
little bit stuck :(

the sp2 adms have alot of featuers we would realy like/need but the settings
just arnt visible :(

is there anyway i can view and edit them ?

btw im doing this through the "active directory users and computers" panel.

Any help would be GREATLY apreshiated.

I believe this sounds like what you need, it worked for me.

The following entry in the [strings] section is too long and has been
truncated" error message when you try to modify or to view GPOs in Windows
Server 2003, Windows XP Professional, or Windows 2000:

Did you edit the Group Policy from an XP SP2 machine. Once you edit the
policy from an XP SP2 machine it upgardes the GPO.
