XP SP1 download

When I attempted to download the update Windows XP SP1, I
got this error message. "Setup could not verify the
integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer. " I
did check this and it was running. However, the download
wouldn't take and neither will any of the other Windows
XP automatic updates. Any answers/thoughts?

Hi Joe,

Go to Start/Run and type in CMD. At the command prompt, type the following
commands, pressing ENTER after each line:

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
