XP setup freezes during installing devices.

I recently had some problems with windows xp so i decided
to use windows setup to try and fix the installation.
When i try this the setup will freeze about half way
through device installation. It will sit there for a long
time, and eventually start again just to do the same
thing. I was able to access the setup log by lettin
install proceeeeed with out the cd and the setup log had
an error listed listed several times "Setup encountered
an error while trying to set system security. An extended
error has occured." Any ideas on what this means?

I encountered the same problem.
Repeatedly -
XP prp freezes at 34% during device installation.
I started with XP installed and got a new upgrade.
Any idea ?
