XP reinstallation troubles.

I have had XP home running on my comp for around 7 months
without any major difficulties. I am having trouble
during the setup of XP, when performing an upgrade or
fresh install.

XP setup stops wtih 33 min remaining, during
the "Installing Devices" stage ay around 65% on the
progress bar. Comes up with the message;
"Unknown Hard Error - Windows could not load the
installer for DISPALY. Contact hardware vendor."
I click "OK" and the next dialogue appears, giving the
same message, but for "Net" - "OK and another appears -
with "Keyboard" - then "Mouse, Computer,
Infrared,Image,Tapedrive,Volume,Battery,Ntapm,Modem"

Then I get a BSOD;
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
Technical Information:
STOP: 0x00000007A
(0xE10203d8, 0xC000000E
0xBF8E6534, 0x94B3860)

Win32k.sys - Address
BF8E6534 base at BF800000
DateStamp - 3D6E5E5

Then I thought to try a fresh install with a fresh HDD,
replaced the drive and formatted fine - got stuck at the
same place with the same errors and the same BSOD.
After that tried an automatic recovery with no success.

Has anyone else experienced these problems?
If anyone out there can assist in any way - please do!
Thanks

Thanks I have experienced problems with my Pagefile size
before. Do you think this may have something to do with
it?
