I have a cycling reboot issue.
I rebooted the PC as a matter of routine, not because of any particular
problem.
The boot stopped at the Windows XP banner screen (with scrolling 'train').
I power cycled the PC and went into Safe mode and ran Registry FirstAid and
Spybot. Spybot cleared one of two errors (called something like FakeMSN) and
asked me to reboot, which I did.
Now the PC boots to the Windows XP banner and after a few seconds reboots,
and so on, or stops at the banner.
If I force Safe Mode with F8 then it always reboots, again after a few
seconds.
I have made no hardware changes. The only known software changes were recent
Windows security updates.
This PC usually doesn't get rebooted or powered off but just goes to
standby.
I don't see anyway to get into the PC to change anything as it won't even
come up in Safe mode!
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Nigel
