Xp Pro work at 64 bit

I'm building a Amd 64 bit computer, will I need to
reinstall XP Pro, to work. The MB thats in right now is a
Asus A7N8X Deluxe w/ 3000 MHz cpu running 32 bit.
Microsoft website isn't very helpful. Will the NVidia 32
bit drivers work?, ware can you find 64 bit Nvidia drivers.
MB Asus K8V Deluxe w/ Amd 64 3200
V card XFX 5600 APG 8x 256mb
2 Corsair XMS3200 DDR 400MHz 512mb RAM
2 WD Raptors 36GB serial ATA H-Drives

The AMD 64-bit processor is capable I believe of running a 32-bit opertaing
system such as Windows XP. You would there not be required to find any
alternative or additional drivers etc.
However - we will be releasing a real 64-bit version of Windows XP for the
AMD64 CPUs. This will require that all drivers be compatible with the
64-bit OS. If we do not ship them then they will come from the hardware
vendor just as 32-bit ones do today.

Mike is correct however the XP64 verrsion for AMD is set for mid 2004!
Making me wait till then! Since I see no advantage to buying one now.
Who knows what will happen by then.

After a major change you need to start with a repair reinstall in any
case - and certainly for this one.

The present position, until the 64 bit version Mike mentions comes out,
is that you can install XP (via a repair) and it will run - but using
only the 32 bit instructions in the Athlon 64. THe one under test is
more aimed at the Opterons, and I'm not at all clear what it will be
like as a system - it may be more like Server 2003 than like XP
