i'm trying to add an xp pro workstation to my windows 2000 advanced domain.
but every time i try to join it errors saying the "server cannot perform the
requested operation" however at the same time i can join a 2000 pro machine
to the same domain with no problem so i know my server is up and running and
working. all other computers running 2000 pro work fine but this one
computer running xp pro that i just installed will not join. any help is
greatly appreciated.

Check the event logs on both the server and the XP Pro workstation - do you
see any errors on either relating to the failure?

I am dealing with the same thing. I have a temp work around I have been
using till I can find the resolve. when it asks you to reboot to jion the
doamin. say no. thats when I get the doamin. but if I do reboot I don't get
domain access. if you do reboot the logs say trust failure. see if that
helps...
are you able to mapp drives or capture printers? be sure the resources are
disconnected before attempting to jion. i am listed on the 18th

actual email is danidanie1973(remove this)@hotmail.com
