XP Pro vs Media Edition

I have machine running Media Edition and another running XP Pro.

I have heard that Media Edition is basically XP PRO plus additional features
that support the media features of ME. I have also heard that it is XP Home
with added media features.

Is ME a version of XP Pro or Home?

Thanks crew!

It is XP Pro, with the Media Center components added on. There are two differences, though. Media Center 2005 cannot join a domain, except during a clean installation, and it will not cache network credentials.

WinXP Media Center Edition is a _superset_ (iow, it does
_everything_ WinXP Pro can do (except join a domain), plus contains
additional multi-media features) of WinXP Pro.
