XP Pro Upgrade Install

I have XP Home edition (full version) currently installed on my PC. I just
purchased XP Pro (Upgrade version). I would like to do a clean install in
order to create 2 partitions - 1 NTFS and 1 FAT32 for dual boot. Can I do
this with the XP Pro Upgrade disc?? I have a 20gig HD.

Hey~
if you only have 20gig, i'd say you're better off with
just 20gig as a whole, (meaning don't partition) and
recommended version'd be NTFS. If you're very serious
about wanting both, you should look into buying an
additional hard drive.

The reason I say not to do is that there can be collision.
But, everything is a possiblity even having partion the
drives. It's your call, quality and reliability or going
where you've not gone before?

Good Luck~

When you say "full version," I assume you mean the computer is now
running the OEM version that came with the computer when it was bought.
You can easily run an upgrade with the Win XP Pro CD, which is how I'd
recommend migrating from one version of XP to the other. In order to manage
partitions, however, I'd suggest that you get a copy of Partition Magic from
Powerquest (www.powerquest.com) rather than try and use the crude and blunt
tools that ship with Windows (any version) in order to add, delete or
re-size partitions.
I responded to a similar query from a user named
(e-mail address removed) just a few postings below this. Please review
that posting for additional details. This will drastically ease your task,
and allow you a great deal more flexibility in doing what you seem to be
trying to do.

You will be able to do this, however, you must use your
XP Home CD to do the reinstall. The upgrade versions
require that a functional operateing system already be
installed. You may need to do the upgrade on both
partitions.
