XP Pro taking forever to boot after Ctrl/Alt/Del when off domain

Hello,

I am having no problems booting when I'm logging in to my domain.
There is no unusual delay at all.

When I am off domain, it's taking a good amount of time to log in
after I type Ctrl/Alt/Delete & enter my password. When I do have
access to a network connection (have integrated wireless), it takes a
bit longer but is still acceptable.

When I am off domain & am not connected via LAN cable nor is there a
wirless signal, it's taking a long, long, long time to log in after
the Ctrl/Alt/Del & entering my password. Today it took no less than
20 minutes for XP Pro to load.

Shouldn't be a hardware problem as my laptop hardware is still new
(Dell Inspiron 5150, 3.0 Ghz CPU, 512 MB RAM, wireless 802.11g, etc.).

Any suggestions out there?

Would appreciate any help at all.

Thanks!

Chris

Do you have any network drives mapped? The OS could be
looking for them. Just a thought...

Mark...I did have network drives mapped. Nuked them but still taking
forever. Going to try Kelly's suggestion & will let you know how it
turns out.

Thanks Kelly!

Thanks Kelly,

Still no speed demon but it seems to have helped. I wonder what was
causing the problem as I haven't exeperienced that before.

Thanks again!

Chris.
